Getting Started

How long does it take to set up ClaimRelay?

Most agencies are processing claims within two business days. You import your policy data, configure your claims workflow rules (auto-settlement thresholds, adjuster roster, communication templates), and connect your systems. ClaimRelay provides onboarding support to ensure your configuration matches your operation.

If you have a simple workflow, you can be live in a single day. Complex multi-branch operations with custom integrations typically take 3-5 business days.

Do I need to install any software?

No. ClaimRelay is entirely cloud-based. Your team accesses it through a web browser on any device. There is no software to install, no servers to maintain, and no IT infrastructure required. Updates are deployed automatically without downtime.

Can I import existing claims data?

Yes. ClaimRelay supports bulk imports from CSV files and direct API connections to major policy administration systems. You can import open claims, historical claims data, policyholder records, and adjuster rosters. Our onboarding team assists with data mapping to ensure a clean migration.

Is there a contract or commitment?

No long-term contracts. ClaimRelay is month-to-month with no cancellation fees. Annual plans are available at a discount (two months free), but there is no penalty for switching to monthly or canceling. We earn your business every month.

Claims Processing

How does the AI damage assessment work?

ClaimRelay's damage assessment engine uses computer vision to analyze photos submitted with claims. It identifies damage type (water, fire, wind, collision, etc.), estimates severity, and calculates preliminary repair or replacement costs based on local market data and contractor rates.

For property claims, the AI references current materials pricing and labor rates for the claim's geographic area. For auto claims, it cross-references parts databases and body shop rate guides. The AI assessment serves as a starting point — complex or high-value claims are always reviewed by a human adjuster.

Can ClaimRelay handle catastrophe events?

Yes. The Enterprise plan includes Catastrophe Mode, which activates surge protocols when claim volume spikes dramatically. This includes priority queuing by severity, automatic overflow routing to partner adjusting firms, streamlined intake forms for faster processing, and real-time dashboards for monitoring the event response.

During CAT events, ClaimRelay automatically adjusts adjuster assignments based on real-time availability and geographic proximity to the affected area.

What types of insurance claims does ClaimRelay support?

ClaimRelay supports property claims (homeowners, renters, commercial property), auto claims (collision, comprehensive, liability), casualty claims, workers compensation, and general liability. The platform is configured to match your specific lines of business during onboarding.

How accurate is the fraud detection?

ClaimRelay's fraud detection engine achieves a 93% detection rate for known fraud patterns with a false positive rate under 5%. The ML models are trained on millions of historical claims and continuously updated as new fraud patterns emerge. Every flagged claim includes a detailed explanation of the risk factors so your SIU team can make informed decisions quickly.

Security & Compliance

How does ClaimRelay protect policyholder data?

ClaimRelay uses bank-grade encryption for all data. Data is encrypted in transit using TLS 1.3 and at rest using AES-256 encryption. Our infrastructure is hosted on SOC 2 Type II certified cloud providers within the United States. We never share, sell, or use policyholder data for any purpose other than providing the service.

We maintain comprehensive audit logs of all data access, support role-based access controls, and offer two-factor authentication for all user accounts.

Does ClaimRelay comply with state insurance regulations?

ClaimRelay is designed to help you comply with state-specific claims handling regulations, including prompt payment laws, communication requirements, and documentation standards. Settlement timelines, required notifications, and documentation rules are configurable per state. The compliance engine validates every claim action against applicable regulations before execution.

Where is policyholder data stored?

All data is stored in the United States on SOC 2 Type II certified infrastructure. We do not store data in offshore locations. Backups are encrypted and stored in geographically separated US data centers for disaster recovery. Data retention policies are configurable to match your regulatory requirements.

Integrations

Does ClaimRelay integrate with our policy administration system?

ClaimRelay integrates with major policy administration platforms via API. During onboarding, we configure bidirectional data sync so policy information flows into ClaimRelay and claim status updates flow back to your PAS. For systems without direct integration, we support CSV-based data exchange and can build custom connectors on the Enterprise plan.

Can ClaimRelay connect to our existing claims management system?

Yes. ClaimRelay can operate as a standalone claims platform or as an AI layer on top of your existing system. The API-first architecture allows it to integrate with Guidewire, Duck Creek, Majesco, and other major platforms. Enterprise customers receive custom integration support.

Does ClaimRelay support electronic payments?

Yes. Approved settlements can trigger automatic payment via ACH or check through integrated payment processors. The payment amount, recipient, and method are validated against the settlement approval before processing. All payment activity is logged in the claim file for audit purposes.

Billing & Plans

What happens after the 14-day free trial?

At the end of your trial, you choose a plan and enter payment information. If you do not subscribe, your account is paused — you can still log in and export your data for 90 days, but automated features stop. There is no surprise charge and no credit card is taken during the trial.

Can I change plans later?

Yes. You can upgrade or downgrade at any time. Upgrades take effect immediately with prorated billing. Downgrades take effect at the end of your current billing cycle. If you outgrow the Professional plan's 1,000 claims per month limit, upgrading to Enterprise takes one click.

What happens if I exceed my monthly claims limit?

ClaimRelay does not hard-cut your access mid-month. If you consistently exceed your plan's claims limit, we will reach out to discuss an upgrade. For occasional spikes (such as after a weather event), there is no penalty or overage charge. We want your claims operation to run smoothly.
